Production schedule - Filming

Day 1 – We will attempt to get all of the scenes filmed in one shooting, if we don’t have enough time we aim to get all of the scenes in which Maia requires her zombie make-up done together to avoid having to re-apply it later.

Day 2 – If scenes are not complete, we aim to continue filming to get it completely finished with re-takes for extra footage.

Day 3 – We will go through all the footage and make sure it is all working, if we feel the filming could be improved we will swiftly re-film anything and begin cutting the footage down choosing the best shoots for editing.

Day 4 – We will now spend our time finding royalty free sound effects and editing the video in premiere.

Day 5 – If the editing process is not finished, we will finish it and then export it and upload it to YouTube and out blogs.

Class room: We are using this for the tetanus as there is loads of room and there are the right resources in the room for the scene (paper, scissors, nail).

Court yard: The court yard will be used for scene with the thug zombie. There’s a large wall for us to use and the lighting is bright, there is lots of space for running.

Fence: The fence will be used for the mine field scene. We used this as there was a wide open field to be used as the minefield and the fence worked with our intentions.

Path way: We will use this area for the branch scene. We will do this here as there is a (much-needed) tree and also there is a wide open area where we will be able to get the right shots. 

Outside Poulson: We will use this area for the food poisoning scene as there are plenty of tables to sit at and the area is bright.

Reception: We will use this area as there is a freely accessible plug socket that we need for our scene and there is lots of space to set up.

Fire exit: This area is quiet and dim for filming so it is perfect for our bed scene.

DepicT! Research

To begin this task I viewed several 90 second short-films from previous DepicT! competitions. This helped me to understand just how much could be done within 90 seconds. I have selected some of my favourite videos and will talk about them briefly.

Death In Space

This video is extremely impressive as it is an animation as opposed to a live-action film. It has a simple idea but its very enjoyable to watch as it is fast-paced and well-animated.

Pig dream

This animation is quite a surreal experience that shows the descent into mental illness. The image of the pig is quite scary and I think the video was designed to shock the viewer, based on this factor it was very successful.

Schatzi (darling)

This video was very dry and humorous, I really love the style of the video. I like the contrast between something that's supposed to be loving and happy (taking family photos) and the reality of the couple's relationship.
